Perfect sense.

The year was 1941; the place, Chisinev, Romania. The Romanian population rampaged through the streets, going door-to-door killing their Jewish neighbors. Beautiful Israel, just four years old, was one of 10,000 murdered in Chisinev in one week .

Why did this happen? There may be many factors, but two stand out. First, there was a simmering hatred of Jews which had existed in Romania for centuries. Parents had taught it to their children as long as anyone could remember. Secondly, Nazi propaganda blatantly identified the Jews as backers and supporters of the Communist Soviets who had invaded Romania. Two powerful factors – hatred and misinformation.

And so knowing that – it made perfect sense to kill Israel… didn’t it?
